This year, the radio-club was present at the French championship with reduced resources, both in terms of antennas and operators. But the important thing was to take part! |
Following the repeated storms that swept Corsica this winter, the directional antenna installed at the summit of "La Punta" failed.
The spare parts needed to repair it didn't arrive in time, so a simple rotating dipole was installed at the last minute to be active on the “high” bands.
Only Alex TK5NJ and Christian TK4RC answered the call to participate with Patrick TK5EP in this contest.
However, Raymond TK5DG and Jean-Luc TK4BF visited us.
Propagation was uneven over the weekend, with periods of loneliness especially on the 15m band. The antenna's lack of gain has been noted on 15m, a lot of DX stations could be contacted on 10m without too many problems.
Apart from the headphone splitter, which detected HF and was therefore unusable, the rest of the station worked perfectly.
We didn't fiddle around at night, and took long breaks at lunchtime to take advantage of the good weather and do some grilling.
The result is not optimal, but the important thing this year was to participate!

A good time was had by all, and the desire to take part in other competitions was expressed.
